Diamond cup grinders are often used for grinding with different roughnesses. Concrete grinding involves two stages.
The first stage includes coarse grinding. This stage requires a soft diamond bond and high diamond hardness. During the grinding process, diamonds are more prone to dullness. The diamond grain size also needs to be larger. At this stage, it is best to use a diamond grit between 35 and 50. The diamond concentration in the cup needs to be very low.
The second stage is fine grinding. This is also called polishing. Hard-bonded diamonds are used at this stage because they are more precise. Also, softer diamonds can be used in the process since diamonds don’t face the problem of breaking down quickly. The diamond grit chosen for this job is generally between 80 and 120. In this case, the concentration of diamond on the disk is high.
